APRIL 2021 Newsletter # 1
Hello, and welcome to our first newsletter. We intend on putting these out regularly with news and interesting info about the area.
DINING ROOM REVAMP
The last couple months have been busy at Farmhouse. We have tiled our dining room, which was always a concrete flooring before. We also repainted the walls, tiled the front veranda by reception area, and repainted our main veranda. We think it looks quite smart!
NEW BABY GIRAFFE
One of our female giraffes (#3) has given birth to another little one. Her last baby (#11) was born in May 2019. We think the new little one was born around 1st April. It’s a real cutie, although we haven’t been able to determine gender yet. Farmhouse now has a total of 12 giraffe.
FANTASTIC RAINY SEASON
The rainy season of 2020 / 2021 was absolutely amazing. We recorded a total rainfall of 902mm, our annual average usually around 580mm. The bush is green, the grass is long and the trees are full. Our dam even has a little water in it!
BAMBATA CAVE
Probably one of the most asked about caves, Bambata cave is well worth the hike. A little bit tricky to get to – 4 x 4 is recommended – we can give a map and directions to all interested (or book a tour with Black Rhino Safaris for you).
